Roman Baths in Bath (Damien and Maxime)

The Roman Baths in Bath

I) The city and its baths

Bath is an ancient town in England where the Romans built baths with three sources of natural hot. On the picture you can see on the sides of the niches that used to eat, relax and read.
The three basins are dedicated to Sulis Minerva, the Roman goddess Athena is among the Greeks.
The pool depth is 1.6 meters, its temperature is 46 ° C. One can see that the water is orange, there is iron in the water that gives it that color.

II) Inside the museum

Here is a model of Roman baths during the time of Julius Caesar. Now the temple has disappeared and there remains only baths. In the temple courtyard, there were sacrifices in honor of the goddess Athena.
When the Roman Baths were discovered, Archaeologists have found 13,000 Roman coins. They had been thrown into some river so that the goddess grants the wishes of the Romans and it heals the disease.

In a window you can see stones that have been found and also lead sheets we found in the basins. These sheets were used to write messages or curses.

III) From the Romans in the niches

The photo below shows two people who are dressed as Romans.
